Asia to continue driving global growth, development in years to come, says Kazakh president

BOAO, Hainan, March 28 (Xinhua) -- As the world economy faces various challenges calling for a new development paradigm, Asia is well positioned to continue driving global growth and development in the years to come, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said here Thursday.

Addressing the opening ceremony of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2024, Tokayev said the meeting takes place against a backdrop of unprecedented global uncertainty, fueled by geopolitical turbulence and economic upheavals, and "the outlook is not very promising."

ASTANA, December 9. /TASS/: Kazakhstan and Russia will constantly work together, despite the "certain shocks" in the world, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.

"Russia is Kazakhstan’s strategic partner. We have the longest ground border with Russia in the world. And we have traditions of good cooperation, which should be preserved or, at the very least, should not be rejected. And I believe that, despite the certain shocks on the international arena, we will constantly work together," Tokayev said in an interview for Euronews.

Kazakhstan: Putin, Erdogan and Raisi make visits in Central Asia

ASTANA (Kazakhstan), Nov 9 (NNN-AGENCIES) — Russian President Vladimir Putin visits Kazakhstan on Thursday, while Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi are expected in Uzbekistan, amid renewed diplomatic interest in the region.

Central Asia’s former Soviet republics have sought to diversify their partnerships as Moscow’s sway over the region — which it considers as under its sphere of influence — has waned since Russia invaded Ukraine.

ASTANA, November 6. /TASS/: Kazakhstan expects Russian President Vladimir Putin to make an official visit to Astana on November 9, the office of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said in a statement.

"On November 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin will make an official visit to Astana on November 9, 2023, at the invitation of the head of state, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The two countries’ leaders are expected to hold talks, discussing pressing issues related to Kazakh-Russian strategic partnership," the statement reads.

Their Soyuz MS-23 capsule undocked from the ISS a minute earlier than scheduled, and took around three and a half hours to make it down to Earth, landing southeast of the city of Zhezqazghan.

Kazakhstan: Tokayev, Putin emphasize need to further develop partnership
