Kanpur: As many as 30 static and 30 video surveillance team were active in the district. They would keep vigil on the contestants fighting the elections. Their meetings and expenses will be closely watched by the teams that will directly report to the district election officer. Strict action will be initiated on violation of code of conduct.

Previously three teams in each assembly constituency were deputedbut now their number has been increased to six teams per assembly area. A total of 30 teams in all the five assembly constituencies will remain active twenty-four hours.
As many 14 contestants are in the fray. It is the second time that fourteen candidates are contesting the Parliamentry polls from Kanpur seat. A total of 16 candidates had contested in the last 2014 elections. About 43 % polling was then reported. As many as six candidates are independent candidates while 8 independent candidates had fought in the year 2014. Three women candidates are trying their luck this election. Like the 2014 polls the fight between two stronger candidates are supposed to be persisting.
Very unique symbols are allotted to the candidates. One among those symbols is a basket full of fruits. Two Muslim contestants are fighting as independent candidates.
