NEW DELHI, Sept 16 (NNN-PTI) – India’s daily COVID-19 caseload, today decreased to 6,298, according to the federal health ministry data, released today.
It marked a decrease, in comparison to the daily caseload of 6,422 yesterday.
With the new cases, India’s active caseload currently stands at 46,748, while the total tally is 44,522,777 in the country.
The country also logged 23 related deaths during the past 24 hours, taking the overall deaths to 528,273, since the beginning of the pandemic, the ministry said.
The daily positivity rate stands at 1.89 percent, and the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 1.70 percent, the ministry data showed.
The ministry said, so far, 43,947,756 people have been successfully cured and discharged from hospitals, of whom 5,916 were discharged during the past 24 hours.
According to the health ministry, the cumulative COVID-19 vaccination coverage in the country has exceeded two billion doses, and until this morning, 2,161,778,020 doses were administered.
