Jordan, U.S. Reaffirm Coordination To Prevent Escalation Of Violations In Jerusalem

AMMAN, Apr 26 (NNN-PETRA) – King Abdullah II of Jordan and U.S. President Joe Biden, yesterday reiterated the importance of maintaining coordination, to prevent the recurrence of violations in Jerusalem that may threaten regional peace, the Royal Hashemite Court said.

During a phone call, they reaffirmed the commitment of the two countries, to continuously work towards global and regional peace, according to a statement by the royal court.

The statement indicated that the king underscored the need to intensify efforts to realise a just and comprehensive peace, that fulfills the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, based on the two-state solution.

Calling for respecting the historical and legal status quo at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, the king noted that, Jordan continues its efforts to safeguard Islamic and Christian holy sites.

During the call, the two sides also discussed means to boost bilateral ties across all fields.
