India: Green Park to have new facilities

KANPUR: City’s famous Green Park is going to be equipped with various new features in next to no time. Like the cricket match, the football matches will also be played under the milky lights which would help the fans enjoy the matches during the night. The Central UP Gas Limited, a joint venture between GAIL (India) and Bharat Petroleum has agreed to install such lights at the stadium.  

The football ground will also be illuminated with milky beams with more than eighty lights. Giving this information, M Khan, manager, CUGL, said that the electrification will be initiated soon. The lights will be put on the polls stretched at a distance of ten metres on the ground.  

Meanwhile, Ajay K Sethi, regional sports officer, maintained that new fittings had been completed at the badminton court. All the defunct lights have been changed. The tiling work of the lobby will also be accomplished sooner. The work of the roof will be carried out between April and May.

He did not fail to mention that the sports directorate would soon take new pavilion under its control. Fitted with modern-day pieces of equipment the players will also avail the benefit of the gym without delay.
