KANPUR: A six-member delegation from Nigeria Sugar Institute has sought technical consultancy from National Sugar Institute, Kanpur to begin a short-duration training programme for its technicians to set up sugar academy in Nigeria. The team is on a visit to this city.
This consultancy will bring improvements in the existing plants in Nigeria. The delegation comprising of Adewale Bakare, Chris C Mbamalu and others visited the NSI to learn in detail about the teaching and training facilities and laboratories.
A draft Memorandum of Understanding will also be signed for seeking approval of both the governments, Prof Mohan said.
The NSI director Prof Narendra Mohan also divulged of the suggestions extended to the Nigerian delegation on sugarcane and sugar productivity besides setting up integrated complexes for producing other value-added products particularly bio-energy generation.
