NEW DELHI, March 11 (Xinhua) -- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina on Monday jointly unveiled e-plaques for development projects in Bangladesh via video conference, said an official statement issued in New Delhi.
Both leaders unveiled e-plaques for the supply of buses and trucks, inauguration of 36 community clinics, 11 water treatment plants and extension of "National Knowledge Network" to Bangladesh, said the external affairs ministry's statement.
Speaking on the occasion, Modi said the projects will boost not only transport connectivity, but also in the area of knowledge. The "National Knowledge Network" will connect scholars and research institutes in Bangladesh to India and the world, he stated.
He further said that these projects would assist efforts towards affordable public transportation, help supply clean water, and benefit about 200,000 people in Bangladesh.
Modi added that these projects show that India-Bangladesh relations play a key role in improving people's quality of life.
