Indian news agency ANI reports quoting sources in the Indian Air Force that at 0330 hours on February 26, a group of Mirage 2000 Indian Fighter jets struck a major terrorist camp across the LoC and completely destroyed it.
The Indian Air Force has not yet responded to the claims. A statement is awaited.
9:00am The Ministry of Defence has told Reuters news agency that it has no information about allegations that Indian aircraft violated Pakistani airspace.
“I have no information,” a defence spokesperson said.
10:00am; The Pakistani military spokesman Major General Asif Ghafoor has tweeted confirming IAF intrusion and saying there were no casualties, no infrastructure damage.
“Indian Air Force violated Line of Control. Pakistan Air Force immediately scrambled. Indian aircrafts gone back.”
"Indian aircrafts’ intrusion across LOC in Muzafarabad Sector within AJ&K was 3-4 miles. Under forced hasty withdrawal aircrafts released payload which had free fall in open area. No infrastructure got hit, no casualties. Technical details and other important information to follow," Ghafoor tweeted.
Major General Asif Ghafoor posted pictures of bombing site with his tweet. Muzafarabad Sector is within 3-4 miles from LoC.
10:15 Minister of State for Agriculture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has confirmed on twitter that the airstrike took place.
“Air Force carried out aerial strike early morning today at terror camps across the LoC (Line of Control) and Completely destroyed it,” he tweeted.
