10 Sep 2021; MEMO: Bahrain's national airline, Gulf Air, will for the first time launch direct flights to Israel's Tel Aviv on 30 September, the carrier said in a Twitter post yesterday, Reuters reports.
"We are excited to announce that we will be flying to Tel Aviv starting 30 September 2021 with two weekly flights," the tweet said.
Israel named its first ambassador to Bahrain earlier this month, after normalising relations with the Gulf Arab state a year ago, an Israeli government Arabic-language Twitter account said yesterday.
Gulf Air said that it will start with two flights a week to its newest destination, adding that the new line to Tel Aviv comes as part of the political, commercial and civil aviation agreements signed with Israel.
Bahrain agreed to normalise ties with the occupation state of Israel a year ago, signing the so-called 'Abraham Accords' with the UAE and Israel in the US.
