India: 6-way highway connecting Kanpur and Allahabad to be ready by 2022

Kanpur: A six-lane highway linking Kanpur and Allahabad will be completed in less than a year but with a higher toll taxes. What compensates the expense burden is availability of speed on the road.

The National Highways Authority of India extended 142-day period to finish the Kanpur-Prayagraj highway.

According to the news, the construction agency had requested the NHAI for another extension given the unavoidable factor but no such reversal has been deciphered.

However, the NHAI survey of the project has yet not come with the remarks on the change of date in regard to the project.

Considering this information, the deadline of the project in Feb 2022 remains intact. This is an a145-km-long stretch. It will be the second six-lane highway after the Chakeri-Etawah highway, according to the news.

Commuters will be able to finish off their journey through 48 upcoming bridges here, news reports state.

Until now, a four-lane route has been connecting the two cities, which permits one-way travel in about 3 and a half hours, as was reported.
