India: SIIC & IIT-K earn credit for installing indigenous oxygen-producing unit

Kanpur: The Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre at IIT Kanpur have achieved a landmark by erecting an indigenous oxygen manufacturing infrastructure.

The startup cell has set up 10 oxygen generating plants across Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Haryana and Bihar. Each of the plants has the capacity to generate up to 500 to more LPM of oxygen.

IIT expertise uses technique & technology to beat COVID-19.

The SIIC collected experts from several domains across the world to confirm the successful execution of plans.The incubation cell brought experts from the USA, Canada Switzerland and others as mentors for this flagship programme.

Professor Amitabha Bandyopadhyay, Professor-In-Charge of the SIIC, said, "When the world was struggling with COVID-19 in the year 2020, the SIIC team delivered critical medical equipment, amidst stringent deadlines, within 90 days. Mission Bharat O2 is the result of the team's enthusiasm."
