India: One died, two fell lifeless while cleaning sewer tank

Kanpur: One died and two others fell unconscious while cleaning the sewer tank in Pali Bhognipur village of the district.

The poisonous gas coming out of the sewer tank took the life of one man and two were recouped. Although the police officer has said of affirming cause of death after the post-mortem report.

According to the news reports, One Malkhan, had hired Hari Kishore, 28 years of age, to clean the sewer tank on Tuesday.

He along with his brother-in-law Bidhnu Kodwa decided to clear the sewer tank. When Hari Kishore opened the lid of the sewer tank, there was no water inside, as was reported.

Therefore, he took a spade and started digging near the pipe. In the meantime, the spade fell into the tank and he went down to take the spade out.

As Hari Kishore cried out for immediate help, his brother-in-law Kallu went in. Both fell unconscious. Meanwhile, the landlord Malkhan Singh also went down the tank. He also fell unconscious after inhaling the poisonous gas. All of them were thus gone into unconscious state.

Later, the villagers brought out all the three unconscious persons  and took them to the hospital, where Hari Kishore was declared brought dead. However, the doctors managed to revive Malkhan and Kallu.

On being informed police rushed to the spot and started an investigation into the incident. Narwal inspector, Shesh Narayan Pandey, said that "The exact cause of death of the man will be ascertained only after the autopsy report."
