KANPUR: An Intermediate student committed suicide by hanging herself to death on Tuesday morning. A suicide note was also found in her book which police took into its possession. The investigation is in progress.
According to the reports, a 17-year-old girl Gayatri D/o Ramawtar Divakar R/o Maswanpur Shivnagar was a student of an Intermediate College in Mandhana. She was disturbed with her incomplete preparations for the ongoing examinations. She studied late on Monday night after dinning. At about 12 pm her mother Sangeeta asked her to sleep but she made her known of sleeping after one hour of study.
When her younger brother Gyanendra approached her, he shrieked to see her sister hanging with the ceiling. Her mother also fell unconscious on the ground. Upon reaching on the spot the police found a suicide note in her Hindi book. What was written in the note was thus: My preparations were not so good. I do not expect enough marks. My parents show affection to me. They are spending sufficient amounts on my study. I do not want to appear at the examination. Therefore I am ending my life.
She was to appear at the Hindi I paper in the afternoon on Feb 12. The relatives told she was very good at study. She had obtained seventy per cent marks in the High School Board examinations. Everyone lauded her intelligence. The father who is a vegetable vendor wanted to see her as a teacher.
The Circle officer Rajesh Pandey said that the girl student had taken this drastic step owing to her papers not going well in the annual Board examinations.
