KANPUR: One solver from one examination centre of the Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment Test in Chakeri area has been caught on Sunday. The invigilator’s doubt on a difference in the examinee’s photo identity brought the matter to the fore. He dialled the police and further questioning established the falsification. The police succeeded in recovering the fake documents and I-card.
According to the police, the solver accepted that he was appearing at the police recruitment examination in place of another candidate. An amount was Rs 20,000 was taken for this purpose in advance. Revealing his identity he told of his residence at Firozabad. The deal was done in a big amount of Rs 2.5 Lakh, he disclosed adding that the kingpin of the solver gang was also from Firozabad district.
Informing of the police action in this regard, KB Mishra, inspector, Chakeri police station, said that Rajkumar was caught from an Inter College under Chakeri police station. A resident of Firozabad he had divulged vital information regarding solver gang and coaching centres. Further enquiry was also in progress.
A total of nine solvers were caught by the STF teams from Mathura, Lucknow, and Agra districts of the state. As many as 11887 examinees remained absent at the city’s 52 examination centres. A total of 51041 candidates appeared at the written test. According to Sushil Kumar, SP(Traffic), a total of 25488 examinees appeared at the first shift of the examination while there were 25553 candidates were present in the second shift.
