India: Police Commissioner assures of better law and order in Kanpur

Kanpur: Joining as the first police commissioner Aseem Arun, IPS, said there would be taken efforts to heighten the city's prestige. Better traffic, better law and order situation will be established. Police will be careful towards the common public. More officers will produce quality works. 

Making his points clear he maintained that organised crime would be eliminated. Strict action will be initiated against the land mafia, and liquor mafia.

As the state government lays stress on a fearless society, he stated that work will be done by this motto. Crime against women will not be tolerated at any cost.

The Commissionerate has been divided into three Zones, 11 Circles. Two zones will have 12 police stations while the third South Zone will include ten police stations. In the new system, there will be two additional police commissioners, six deputy police commissioner, nine upper police commissioners and 20 assistant police commissioners. Besides, the assistant radio officer and the chief fire officer will also lend their services. Thus, as many as 20 gazetted officers will work in Kanpur Nagar.
