India: Standing under the sky students' body temperature rises

Kanpur: A temperature check remains compulsory for school-going students. Students are made to stand in open for a long time, which they do not like.

Their body temperature soars while standing under the sun. But the school authorities do not allow them to stand in the shade.

On Saturday a student was told to stand in the open as his body temperature was found above normal during the check-up. He requested the teacher to allow him to stand in a shaded area.

When the student was allowed to move to a shaded area, his temperature came down to normal when tested again. He was then allowed to appear for his annual exam at a posh school in the tannery town of Jajmau.

Parents think the school authorities must not treat the students badly by forcing them to stand under the scorching sun.
