Debris Of Indian Navy’s Jet Located, Pilot Still Missing

NEW DELHI, Nov 30 (NNN-PTI) – Debris of the MiG-29k trainer aircraft, that crashed in the Arabian Sea on Thursday, has been located, an Indian Navy (IN) official said yesterday.

The jet had crashed into the sea, off the southern state of Goa. While one pilot was rescued, the other is still missing.

“Some debris of the aircraft, including landing gear, turbo charger, fuel tank engine and wing engine have been located,” said a statement.

It said that the IN’s search and rescue efforts, to locate the missing pilot continues with extensive deployment of naval ships and aircraft.

In addition to nine warships and 14 aircraft engaged in the search efforts, the IN’s Fast Interceptor Craft are also deployed to search waters along the coast.

Furthermore, the Marine/Coastal police are on the lookout and nearby fishing villages have been sensitised, added the IN statement.
