India: Ghatampur bypoll: surprising moments during counting

Kanpur: Some surprising things were seen at the counting of Ghatampur bye-election votes. The counting was done at Naveen Galla Mandi premises here. As many as 1554 votes were counted at none of the above (NOTA) that left far behind two candidates fighting independently. Counting was completed in a total of 36 rounds.

Despite leading in the initial two rounds the BSP candidate ended at third position. It remained a shocking experience for the contestant.

By-election winner's teary eyes caught sight of the public as he started crying to see his father who consoled him. He advised him not to weep but focus on completing promised made to the supporters.

Samajwadi Party could not show its expected performance. There were set up around 481 polling booths.
