India: Chakeri airport facing waterlogging, solution sought

Kanpur: Waterlogging problem bothers all those who are reaching out to the Chakeri airport. At the time of rains, this crisis  becomes more disturbing to the passengers as well as the staff there.

The waterlogging beginning from the airport's entry step extends up to the parking area and even the administrative area.

Undoubtedly the passengers face the menace painfully.

There is a need to lay down a 2-Km-long pipeline from the main gate to the road stretching towards the village. 

There is a proposal to spend a sum of Rs 70 Lakh on the work. This funding will be procured from the budget of the 15th Finance Commission, as reported.

The new pipeline will be connected with the existing cemented drain near the lawn.

Approving the proposals SK Singh, executive engineer Nagar Nigam said it could relieve the passengers of the persisting problem of waterlogging.
