KANPUR: In pursuance of the directives the common effluent treatment plant in Jajmau has been repaired, which has now got approval from a two-member panel.
Giving this information Kuldeep Mishra, regional pollution control board officer stated that two members comprising of Ashutosh Pandey and Shanu Sonkar paid a visit to the plant and looked satisfied with the plant’s operational efficiency. The members found the 35 MLD plant completely ready to flow tannery discharge.
It has been repaired at the cost of Rs 17 crore by the Jal Nigam’s Ganga pollution unit. Jal Nigam officials like Rajesh Kumar and Shatrughan Singh were also present on the site. The officer also made it clear that he would soon submit his report to the Headquarters in Lucknow
