KANPUR: In the course of inspection of the Udyog Directorate office here on Monday, the micro, small & medium enterprises minister of UP Govt, Satya Dev Pachauri looked amply annoyed with the department officials’ easy-going attitude. He confronted with their neglectful sense of duty.
Even the biometric system for attendance check was found to be out of order at the office. He reached the office at 9.30 am and asked the guards to close the office gates. He did not shirk from deputing police personnel at each gate.
What remained the most painful was that the employees’ count was only six before him. In the meantime, the present officials thought it apt to phone the colleagues. However, the minister continued to make an enquiry about the absent employees.
Strangely enough, there were 18 sections in the office but the attendance of the employees was undeniably very short. As many as 39 employees were absent at the time. Enraged with this sort of irresponsibility he issued warning of strict action. He ordered show cause notice and even directed to cut the one-day salary of the absent employees.
