Kanpur: Residents observing social distancing and lockdown in toto are condemning the vegetable vendors for avoiding the sale of green vegetables in the city's outer Jajmau area. Though its tract is adjoining the Cantt side, it is also spread over Lucknow-Allahabad route along the Ganges.
During this time of distress, some of the veg vendors with carts full of onions and potatoes in the locality are seen. However, the housewives reacting on the sheer absence of pure fresh vegetables start fuming at its paucity. They said: "How stupid they are? They did not realise other vegetables than the usual two are also existing. They should bring every vegetable as none takes potato and onion only in the diet every day."
Their irritation does not end here but was expressed further as such: They seem to be selling onions just to reduce their stock in the time of lockdown. What will be the exact problem if they do bring other various vegetables?
