A clash between BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, BJP workers, and AAP workers erupted during the inauguration of Signature Bridge in Delhi.
Police officials escorted Tiwari away from the venue.
BJP Delhi unit chief Manoj Tiwari, was not invited for the inauguration ceremony.
AAP leader Dilip Pandey said that the BJP workers thrashed AAP volunteers and local people, and accused Tiwari for resorting to “hooliganism”.
“MP (Manoj Tiwari) considers himself VIP. He is doing hooliganism. BJP people thrashed AAP volunteers and local people. They are admitted to the hospital,” ANI quoted Pandey as saying.
According to The Indian Express, “AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal asked Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal to ensure peace and order. “Unprecedented. Chaos by BJP at Signature Bridge inauguration site. Its a Delhi government program. Police mute spectator. Can LG, being head of Delhi police, ensure peace and order at Signature bridge inauguration site?”
“Claiming credit for re-starting the construction of the bridge, which will ensure seamless travel between north and northeast Delhi, Tiwari said he was not invited despite being the North East Delhi MP”, reported The Indian Express.
