Syrian President Highlights Resolve To Retake All Syrian Areas From Rebels

 Bashar al-Assad

DAMASCUS, Feb 17 (NNN-SANA) – Syrian President, Bashar al-Assad, on Sunday, highlighted his administration’s determination, to retake all Syrian areas from the rebels.

Countries hostile to Syria are still trying to protect “terrorists,” who take civilians as hostages and human shields, which cannot be allowed to continue, at the expense of the life, security and stability of the citizens, Assad said, during his meeting with Iranian Parliament Speaker, Ali Larijani.

For his part, Larijani affirmed Iran’s continued support for Syria, noting the recent victories made by the Syrian army.

The meeting comes, as the Syrian army is making strides in the battles against rebel groups in the countryside of Aleppo, in northern Syria, just days after the army managed to secure the main Damascus-Aleppo highway.

Capturing the road is a strategic win for the Syrian army, as the road links Aleppo, the economic capital of Syria, with the political capital, Damascus.
