India: IIT-K holds special interest group meet

Kanpur: Speaking at Special Interest Group meeting organized at IIT here, Prof M Agrawal, deputy director, of the Institute defined its important role as a knowledge partner in the Bundelkhand Defence Corridor project. He also asked for fresh inventions in the defence sector.

More than 40 projects related with defence are continuing presently at the institute here. 

As the IIT-K & Technopark@iitk jointly organized the meet, its in charge Prof Avinash Agarwal invited industries to establish the R & D branches in Technopark@iitk. 

The functioning of Technopark@iitk is reportedly a base for as many as nine companies. Two more are expected to join soon, as indicated in the course of the one-day meeting.
