India: Monday sunshine brings respite to residents

Kanpur: Monday comes with clear sky thereby giving a bit much respite from phenomenal winter rain. Sun over our head shines brightly and provides the amount of warmness we require amid bad weather. Today's temperature rests at 8 degrees minimum with cloudy sky.

The residents feel quite at ease with the shining sun. They say it is good to get some amount of sunshine. Not one but people are seen standing at the spots where Sunrays are directly falling.

One fully covered youth said this warmness was far better than the fire we get from burning the wooden logs. At least the sun provides us warmth without any smoke.

If we look at the weather it was recorded at the highest level of rain with 80 mm in the city after a gap of 49 long years.

The weather experts still predict rains in coming days owing to a western disturbance. Prof Naushad Khan, agrometeorologist, Chandra Sekhar Azad University, maintained that crop productivity would go down due to rains. Damage to mustard, wheat and potato crops have been caused. January rain did bring enough damages to the Rabi crops.
