A PhD scholar named Manan Bashir Wani has been killed in Kashmir by Indian Security Forces, along with another Kashmiri.
Wani was a PhD scholar from Aligarh Muslim University, who returned home 3 days ago. Indian Security Forces allege that Wani was Hizbul Mujahideen member.
According to The Indian Express, “Former chief minister and PDP mainstay Mehbooba Mufti termed Wani’s killing as “entirely our loss” and urged the political forces in the country to facilitate a dialogue with all the stakeholders, including Pakistan, to find a solution for this “bloodshed”.
“His death is entirely our loss as we are losing young educated boys every day’’, said Mufti.
