India: Kamlesh Tiwari’s family meets UP CM Adityanath but not satisfied with response

Sitapur; 21 Oct 2019 (UMM): Family of the assasinated KamleshTiwari met Chief Minister Adityanath and demanded justice.

Tiwari’s mother said the family wasn’t content with Yogi’s promises, and Tiwari’s son told the media he doesn’t trust the UP administration and wants NIA to probe the matter.

Talking to the reporters, Tiwari’s mother said, “based on the traditions, we are not suppose to come out of our home for 13 days after the death of a son, but the offials forced us to see the Chief Minister because he has ordered so”.

When asked about CM’s attitude, she said “it was not as she hoped”. Whe asked if she was satisfied with government’s response, she said “why would she be angry if they responded satisfactorily”, and said “we will pick up the sword ourselves if we don't get justice… we want justice”.

Earliar she blame Shiv Kumar Gupta, a local BJP leader, for organising her son’s assassination, and claimed that the UP CM Adityanath too was involved.

UP Police has now banned the entry of media inside the residence of KamleshTiwari in Sitapur.

According to Scroll.in, Tiwari’s family repeatedly asked for a security upgrade but no action was taken.

The state government, meanwhile, announced security for Kamlesh Tiwari’s family, and said they would be provided a licenced weapon. The administration is also expected to announce monetary compensation, a government job for Satyam Tiwari, and a house for the family, reported Scroll.in.

The Opposition hit out at the state government. Former Uttar Pradesh minister Om Prakash Rajbhar demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation in the matter. He said Kamlesh Tiwari was killed even though the BJP was in power in the Centre and the state. State BJP President Swatantra Dev Singh Patel said the administration had taken measures to expedite the inquiry.

Tiwari, purportedly a member of Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha, was killed inside his office in Khurshed Bagh on Friday. Five people were detained in the case, with two of them released after interrogation.

The Lucknow Police on Sunday recovered a blood-stained knife from a hotel room in the Lalbagh area of the city where two people allegedly involved in the murder were staying, ANI reported.

Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police OP Singh said that three people have been taken into custody. They were arrested on Saturday in Surat, and will be taken to Uttar Pradesh on Monday, ANI reported.
