India: Kanpur to have Indian Institute of Skill

Kanpur: Like Ahmedabad and Mumbai, one Indian Institute of Skill (IIS) will be opened here. This will cover the whole of the state, said Mahendra Nath Pandey, union minister for Skill development & entrepreneurship at Circuit House here on Saturday.

He stressed that the central government was determined to train the youths with skill development in order to link them with employment.

He pointed out this kind of Institute would train the youths in accordance with the needs of the industrial units. It would run on a baseline of one product, one district.

Arriving at Central in the morning, he was welcomed by the City Mayor Pramila Pandey and various other BJP district-level leaders.
