Kanpur: Second storey of a building in Quli Bazar of Anwarganj area collapsed to the ground which led to the death of an old woman living on the third floor. She came down with the debris. The Fire Brigade personnel took half an hour in bringing her out of the debris. She was declared dead by the doctors at Ursula hospital.
According to the reports, 62-year-old Asha Tiwari had been staying along with her daughters Radha & Raksha on the third floor in the building. She was shifting the kitchen wares into the room but soon the floor of the room suddenly collapsed. She was lying under the debris.
The rescue operation continued for about thirty minutes and it is only after then she was taken out. On reaching the hospital the doctors told that she was no longer alive.
The police helped the residents shift to adjacent houses and vacated the dilapidated building from other occupants.
Anwarganj police station in-charge and Fire security officer, Latouche Road were present on the occasion.
