India: Scrimmage takes place over Ompurwa water-logging

Kanpur: Only assurances used to come from the officers concerned. No action was taken up to resolve the water-logging problem prevailing in Ompurwa locality for the past six months.

When the elected representatives and officers of Jal Kal, Namami Gangey project and Nagar Nigam reached the area for spot inspection, the area people started narrating their tale of woes.

Upon this, the Jalkal executive engineer AK Rajput made the people straightly responsible for the existing sewer problem.

Hearing this point the area Corporator and the people got infuriated. The Corporator dragged the executive engineer up to the water-logging and forced him to stand into the dirty water. They did not even mind in misbehaving with other officials meddling to save the officer.

Anyhow after placating the anger, the officials inspected the houses facing the menace badly. The situation was more than worse sight.

Reacting on the matter, the Corporator Sharad Mishra said that he was present only to resolve the scrimmage.The people indulged in misbehaving with the executive engineer. They were angered over the problem. While the DM made it clear that strict action would be taken against the persons misbehaved with the engineer.
