India: Rly to lay down 4th track from Panki to Bhaupur station

Kanpur: To lessen the load on the New Delhi-Howarh route,  the Railway Board has okayed to lay down the fourth track from Panki to Bhaupur station. The tender process has also started. The track would be ready by the end of next year, as was being claimed.

The trains coming from Delhi stay either at Panki outer or Govindpuri outer or Diamond Crossing for signal to reach Kanpur Central station. Sometimes the trains take more than one hour to reach the railway station. This proposed new track would bring down the time.

More than three hundred trains are running on the route daily. This causes trains to delay more often. It is also said that the load on the tracks are more than its capacity. According to the Railways, the track is bearing the load of the trains more than 170%. In such situation the trains get delayed from half to one and forty-five minute. The design of the track would be such as the train could be carried on Govindpuri or Panki railway station.

It will be apt to mention here that the third track which had been laid down on last year from Panki to Bhaupur station could not decrease the delayed running of the trains.

Though there does exist two tracks for the trains to run towards Delhi but there is only one from the down side. So, the fourth track would solve the problem of trains' delayed running.
