India: Spanish Co setting up commercial vehicles' inspection center

Kanpur: Safety gadgets of the commercial vehicles will be checked with the technical  help provided by Spanish company. A model inspection and certification center will be developed at Binnaur village of the district.

The state government has expressed its approval in this regard. There will be no need of transport department officials at this center to be set up at a huge cost of Rs 8.39 crore in an area of 1.26 hectare. A budget of 3.25 crore has been provided and the work on this project had also begun from January this year. 

Project incharge Kamlesh Bajpai said the inspection completed at this center would be acceptable to the ARTO. The vehicles from any district could be checked for fitness here. Though one such would also be opened at Lucknow. 

Four different centers would be set up for fitness inspection. Computerized machines will carry out function to check wheels, chassis, sIt has also been steering, body, brake, piston of the vehicle.

ARTO (admin) Aditya Tripathi said the Spanish company would install its quality gadgets for inspection. Commercial vehicles will be thoroughly checked and certified. 

It has also been cleared that a private company will manage the operation of the center.
