Kanpur: A bike caught fire after collision with a speeding car on the highway near Rania on Wednesday morning. Owing to hard hitting the bike rider was thrown at a distance. The accident brought the traffic to a standstill.
According to the reports, the bike rider Ramji Katiyar r/o Barra forcefully came on the highway from the petrol pump. He was employed as Amin at the Civil Court. The moment after a speeding car badly hit the bike that got dragged with the car for a length of distance. Eventually the car stopped at the divider.
Upon receding information about the accident, the police reached the spot. One fire tender was called to extinguish the burning bike.
Badly hurt bike rider was first sent to the district hospital for necessary treatment. The car driver Nilendra Singh received minor injury.
In the meantime Devendra Singh, Chowki incharge, Rania police post said damaged vehicles were put to stand at the Chowki.
