JERUSALEM, Jan 24 (NNN-Xinhua) — U.S. Vice President Mike Pence announced Thursday during a visit to Jerusalem that the White House plans to release its plan for peace in the Middle East next week in Washington.

In joint statements with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Pence said that U.S. President Donald Trump requested him to extend an invitation to Netanyahu and opposition leader Benny Gantz to arrive in Washington “to discuss regional issues and the possibility of peace in the Holy Land.”

Netanyahu and Gantz accepted the invitation, Pence said.

NEW DELHI, Jan 24 (NNN-Xinhua) — India once again rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s offer to mediate in the Kashmir issue, saying it had to be “bilaterally” resolved with Pakistan.

In a statement, Ministry of External Affairs spokesman Raveesh Kumar said that there was no role for any third party in this matter.

23 Jan 2019; MEMO: Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu yesterday called on Russia to fulfil its pledges to a ceasefire in Syria’s north-western city of Idlib.

Speaking on the sidelines of the fiftieth annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, Cavusoglu warned that the situation in Idlib was “dangerous”, noting that the Syrian regime was “randomly targeting civilians”.

23 Jan 2019; MEMO: The White House is opposing any Israeli move to annex parts of the occupied West Bank “before declaring its [US] prospective plan to settle the Israel-Palestinian conflict, known as Deal of the Century,” a US official announced yesterday.

Kolkata, Jan 22 (PTI) Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Wednesday asserted that in the absence of any development agenda, what the Bharatiya Janata Party wants is to create a "Hindu rashtra".

Speaking at the Kolkata Literary Meet here, Tharoor also claimed the real "tukde tukde gang" is the ruling party which is dividing the country into "bits and pieces".

"With no development on its agenda, the ruling party is making a complete exposition of its agenda to create a Hindu rashtra," Tharoor, also an acclaimed author, claimed.

Ahmedabad, Jan 22 (PTI) The Gujarat High Court has rejected a plea filed by former IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt seeking a review of its direction to the CID to probe a 1996 case of alleged drug planting in which he was arrested.

Justice J B Pardiwala rejected the jailed former officer's petition last week.

Jaipur, Jan 23 (PTI) Lauding the efforts of students and common people who have been protesting against the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), actor Nandita Das said on Thursday that more places like Shaheen Bagh are coming up across the country.

Das also exhorted people to speak up against the CAA and the National Register of Citizens (NRC).

GAZA, Palestine, Jan 23 (NNN-WAFA) – Hamas, ruler of the Gaza Strip, condemned the killing of three Palestinian teenagers by Israeli army.

Fawzi Barhoum, Hamas spokesman in Gaza, said that, the killing of the Palestinians “is an awful crime that is strongly condemned.”

“While the occupier (Israel) is receiving world leaders, for the memory of the Holocaust, Israeli tanks murdered three Palestinian young men, on the Gaza border, in cold blood,” said Barhoum.

RAMALLAH, Palestine, Jan 23 (NNN-WAFA) – The UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Nickolay Mladenov, warned that, Israel’s plan to annex the Jordan Valley is “a devastating blow” to the two-state solution.

“It will be a devastating blow to reviving the Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations” if part or all of the Jordan Valley is annexed, Mladenov said.
