DUSHANBE, September 17. /TASS/: The Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s activity is very crucial for countering common threats as well as recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic, United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres said in his address to the SCO heads of state participating in the Dushanbe summit.

DUSHANBE, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on Thursday highlighted the importance of maintaining peace and tranquility in the border areas.

During their meeting in the Tajik capital of Dushanbe, Wang said that China has always been handling the China-India boundary issue with a positive attitude.

DUSHANBE, Sep 16 (APP): Prime Minister Imran Khan Thursday invited the business community of Tajikistan to invest their capital in Pakistan, assuring them of all out facilitation by his government.

Addressing the Pakistan-Tajikistan Joint Business Forum, the prime minister said his government was already on the course of incentivizing and facilitating own business sector through different measures.

DUSHANBE, September 16. /TASS/: Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted the invitation extended by Chinese leader Xi Jinping to attend the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, which will be held in Beijing in February, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Thursday at a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.

DUSHANBE, September 15. /TASS/: Moscow condemns the activity of Western nations in Libya and is not going to share with them the burden of responsibility for the migration crises triggered as a result, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told journalists on Wednesday following a joint meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers, the Council of Foreign Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of the CSTO Security Councils.

DUSHANBE, Sept 2 (Reuters) - Tajikistan cannot afford to take in large numbers of refugees and asylum seekers from neighbouring Afghanistan as it promised to do in the summer, the police chief of Central Asia's poorest country said on Thursday.

The government of Tajikistan, an ex-Soviet state allied to Moscow and part of the Russian-led CSTO military alliance, said in July that it could take in 100,000 refugees from Afghanistan but that it needed to create infrastructure for them.

DUSHANBE (Tajikistan), Aug 25 (APP): Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon on Wednesday agreed to the proposal of Pakistan to adopt a cohesive approach in achieving the common goals of peace and prosperity in Afghanistan.

The development came as Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi held a meeting with the Tajik president on the current situation in Afghanistan.

DUSHANBE, July 28. / TASS /: Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe invited his Russian counterpart Sergey Shoigu to participate in the joint military exercises, which will be held in China in August.

"Next month, we are going to carry out joint military exercises in China. I invite the Russian defense minister to the active phase of these exercises," Fenghe said at a meeting with Shoigu in Dushanbe on Wednesday.

DUSHANBE, July 28. /TASS/: The defense ministers of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) highlight the need to counter the growing activity of terrorists after the pullout of foreign military contingents from Afghanistan, the SCO defense chiefs said in a joint statement following their meeting in Dushanbe on Wednesday.

DUSHANBE, July 23 (Reuters) - Tajikistan is preparing to take in up to 100,000 refugees from neighbouring Afghanistan where fighting has escalated as United States-led troops withdraw, a senior Tajik official said on Friday.

Taliban insurgents are gaining control of more and more territory in Afghanistan, which the Pentagon estimates now extends to over half of Afghanistan's district centres.
