China and Saudi Arabia to power green hydrogen project with 2.2 GW of solar energy

Saudi Arabia urges its citizens to quickly leave Lebanon

05 August 2023; MEMO: Saudi Arabia called on its citizens to quickly leave Lebanese territory and to avoid approaching areas where there have been armed clashes, the Saudi embassy in Lebanon said in a statement posted late on Friday on X, formerly known as Twitter, Reuters reports.

The kingdom did not specify which areas in Lebanon that it was advising its citizens to avoid.

The embassy stressed "the importance of adhering to the Saudi travel ban to Lebanon," the statement added.

Saudi Flag Carrier Launches Direct Route To Beijing

JEDDAH, Aug 5 (NNN-SPA) – Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia), launched yesterday, a direct route connecting the kingdom’s capital, Riyadh and Red Sea port city of Jeddah, to Beijing.

The new route to China reflects Saudia’s role in connecting the two countries in various aspects, including trade and business, tourism and culture, Saudia said in a statement.

Saudi Arabia to extend oil output cuts for another month

04 August 2023; MEMO: Saudi Arabia will extend a voluntary oil output cut of one million barrels per day for another month to include September, it said yesterday, adding it could be extended beyond that or deepened, Reuters reported.

The kingdom's production for September will be around nine million barrels per day (bpd), the state news agency SPA cited an official source at the energy ministry as saying.

RIYADH, Aug 2 (NNN-SPA) – Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, renewed his request to the Swedish and Danish governments, for measures to address the recurrent insults to the Quran.

Taha made the remarks at the 18th extraordinary session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, which was held virtually on Monday, said the report.

Saudi Arabia to grant Yemen $1.2bn in economic aid

01 August 2023; MEMO: Saudi Arabia has approved a $1.2 billion grant to Yemen's internationally-recognised government, led by the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), as part of efforts to prop up the war-torn country's flagging economy, AFP reported citing two officials.

According to the sources, Yemen's finance minister and central bank governor as well as the Saudi ambassador are expected to disclose details of the grant at a signing ceremony in Riyadh at 5pm (1400 GMT).

Saudi FM Urged Sudan’s Warring Parties To Stop Military Escalation

RIYADH, Jul 31 (NNN-SPA) – Saudi Foreign Minister, Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, urged warring parties in Sudan, to stop “all forms of military escalation” and find a political solution that would guarantee Sudan’s return to security and stability.

In a phone call that Faisal received from General Commander of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, the Saudi top diplomat urged the warring parties in Sudan to “restore calm” and prioritise their national interest.
