ISLAMABAD, April 18 (Xinhua) -- The government of Pakistan has extended the suspension of all domestic and international flight operations till April 30, a statement from the country's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said Saturday.

The decision comes after the country has witnessed a regular increase in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases which had risen to 7,638 with 143 deaths as on Saturday afternoon.

Karachi; 14 April 2020 (UMM): A team of scientists in Pakistan’s Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) claimed to have made a significant breakthrough in the treatment against Covid-19 by using plasma obtained from recovered coronavirus patients.

ISLAMABAD, Apr 12 (NNN-APP) – Pakistan’s confirmed COVID-19 cases rose to 5,011 with 86 deaths, according to the data, updated by the country’s health ministry on Saturday night.

The country’s eastern Punjab province, continued as the most affected area, with a total of 2,414 cases, followed by southern Sindh province, which has 1,318 confirmed cases.

At least 697 cases were registered in northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, 220 in southwest Balochistan province, and 215 in north Gilgit-Baltistan region, and 113 in the capital Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD, Apr 7 (NNN-APP) – Pakistani Prime Minister, Imran Khan, on Monday evening, reshuffled the federal cabinet by changing portfolios for different ministers and by making fresh appointments in different ministries and ministerial departments, the Prime Minister Office said.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister Office, Khan appointed Muhammad Hammad Azhar as Federal Minister for Industries, who was earlier serving as Minister for Economic Affairs.

Islamabad, Apr 6 (PTI) The number of the coronavirus cases in Pakistan on Monday reached 3,277 with the infections in the worst-hit Punjab province approaching 1,500 despite government claims that the ongoing lockdown in the country has slowed down the spread of the deadly virus.

Ministry of National Health Services said that 50 patients have so far died of the disease, while 257 people have recovered.

ISLAMABAD, Apr 6 (APP): Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry Monday announced that Pakistan within three weeks would start manufacturing of its own Ventilators to increase testing capacity for Coronavirus.

Talking to a private news channel, Fawad hoped that today after getting the approval of Drugs Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), Pakistan will start locally its own testing kits and ventilators manufacturing to save the lives of many critically ill coronavirus patients.

ISLAMABAD, Apr 5 (APP): Prime Minister Imran Khan as promised on Sunday reiterated his determination to take action against those responsible for sugar and wheat price hike after receiving detailed forensic reports on April 25.

He said it was unprecedented in the country’s history that preliminary reports into sudden price hike of these commodities were released without alteration.

Previously, the political clout with vested interests lacked the moral courage to order and make such reports public, he added.
