COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A former K-9 officer has been indicted in Ohio on murder charges in the death of a Black man who was lying on his bed when he was shot by police trying to serve a warrant.

Former Columbus police officer Ricky Anderson was also charged Friday with reckless homicide by a county grand jury in the August 2022 death of 20-year-old Donovan Lewis.

USA: Ohio father accused of killing his 3 young sons indicted on murder charges

BATAVIA, Ohio (AP) — A grand jury has indicted an Ohio man accused of fatally shooting his three young sons on murder charges.

Chad Doerman, 32, was indicted Thursday on charges of aggravated murder, kidnapping and assault for the June 15 deaths of his sons, according to Clermont County court records.

Clayton Doerman, 7, Hunter Doerman, 4, and Chase Doerman, 3, were all killed. Prosecutors say he admitted to planning the shooting.

USA: 14 people injured in roof collapse at home near Ohio State University

COLUMBUS (Ohio, US), April 30 (NNN-AGENCIES) — Fourteen people were injured as a roof at an off-campus house near Ohio State University in Columbus collapsed Saturday night, officials said.

First responders were called to East 13th Avenue, blocks away from the university’s campus, around 7:40 p.m. to reports of a roof collapse during a party.

All victims were transported to several nearby hospitals with unspecified injuries, but are in stable condition, the Columbus Fire Department said.

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (AP) — Authorities in Ohio say there is no indication of any risk to public health from the derailment of a Norfolk Southern cargo train between Dayton and Columbus, the second derailment of a company train in the state in a month.

Norfolk Southern and Clark County officials say 28 of the southbound train’s 212 cars, including four empty tankers, derailed at about 4:45 p.m. Saturday in Springfield Township near a business park and the county fairgrounds.
