Iraq Exports Over 85 Million Barrels Of Crude Oil In July

BAGHDAD, Aug 2 (NNN-NINA) – Iraqi Oil Ministry, said that, it exported more than 85 million barrels of crude oil in July, bringing in revenues of over three billion U.S. dollars.

Iraq’s total exports of crude during July reached 85.66 million barrels, with an average of 2.76 million barrels per day, a ministry’s statement said, citing statistics of the State Organisation for Marketing of Oil.

The average selling price for crude oil in June was about 40.7 dollars per barrel, the statement added.

UN Welcomes Setting Date For Early Elections In Iraq

BAGHDAD, Aug 1 (NNN-NINA) – The United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), welcomed Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa al-Kadhimi’s announcement, of setting June 6, 2021, a date for early elections.

“Early elections fulfil a key popular demand on the road to greater stability and democracy in Iraq,” UNAMI said in a statement.

It said, the United Nations is ready to provide support and technical advice as requested by Iraq, to ensure “free, fair, and credible elections that win the public’s trust.”

Iraqi Army’s Helicopter Damaged By Rocket Attack Near Baghdad

BAGHDAD, July 28 (NNN-NINA) – An Iraqi army’s helicopter was damaged by an attack of three Katyusha rockets, last night, on a military base, housing U.S. forces, near Iraq’s capital Baghdad, the Iraqi military said.

The three rockets, which landed on al-Taji Camp, some 20 km north of Baghdad, were fired from the nearby Sabaa al-Bour area, and one of them hit the army’s 15th Squadron of helicopter gunships and caused great damage to a helicopter, the media office of the Iraqi Joint Operations Command (JOC) said in a statement.

Huge Explosions Hit Ammunition Depot Near Iraq’s Capital

BAGHDAD, July 27 (NNN-NINA) – Huge explosions on Sunday, hit an ammunition depot, at a military base in southern Baghdad, the Iraqi military said.

“It was discovered that the ammunition depot of the federal police exploded over high temperature and poor storage,” said a brief statement by the media office of the Iraqi Joint Operations Command (JOC).

Earlier, a JOC statement said, two explosions took place in a depot of weapons and ammunition at the al-Saqr military base, in the south of the capital Baghdad, without giving further details.

Gunmen kill 6 family members north of Iraq's capital

BAGHDAD, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Unidentified gunmen shot dead six family members in a village in the Iraqi province of Salahudin, a provincial police source said Saturday.

The incident took place late on Friday night when the armed men broke into the house of Ali Mukhlif, administrative head of Samoum village in the northwest of the city of Samarra, some 120 km north of Iraq's capital Baghdad, Mohammed al-Bazi told Xinhua.

Iraq's new premier visits Iran, his first visit abroad

Tehran, Jul 21 (AP/PTI) Iraq's new prime minister arrived in Iran on Tuesday, his first official visit abroad since taking office more than two months ago, Iranian media reported.

State television showed footage of Mustafa al-Kadhimi landing at Tehran's Mehrabad airport. The TV said al-Khadhimi would meet top Iranian leaders, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President Hassan Rouhani.

Iraqi prime minister visits Tehran, to meet Supreme Leader

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi travelled to Tehran on Tuesday where Iranian state media reported he would meet Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on his first foreign trip since taking office in May.

Kadhimi’s visit was meant to come after a trip to Saudi Arabia but that was cancelled after Saudi’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz was admitted to hospital suffering from inflammation of the gall bladder.

Iranian FM Visits Iraq To Discuss Bilateral Ties, Regional Stability

BAGHDAD, July 20 (NNN-NINA) – Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, yesterday visited Iraq, to discuss bilateral ties and Iraq’s role in regional stability.

During his visit, Zarif and his delegation met with Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa al-Kadhimi, and they discussed bilateral relations and issues of common interests, according to a statement by al-Kadhimi’s media office.

Four Daesh Militants, Two Hashd Shaabi Members Killed In Attacks In Iraq

BAGHDAD, July 20 (NNN-NINA) – Four Daesh militants and two paramilitary Hashd Shaabi members were killed on Sunday, in two attacks in the Iraqi province of Salahudin, Hashd Shaabi, said.

Paramilitary Saraya al-Salam militia, affiliated with Hashd Shaabi forces, killed four Daesh militants in the northeast of the city of Samarra, some 120 km north of Iraq’s capital, Baghdad, a Hashd Shaabi statement said.
