PARIS, April 24. /TASS/: France’s incumbent president, Emmanuel Macron, has 52.59% in the presidential election runoff with 55% of the votes counted, as follows from the early returns the Interior Ministry has uploaded to its website on Sunday.

Marine Le Pen, of the National Rally party, has 47.41%. The turnout is estimated at 73.76%.

Earlier, Le Pen made a brief comment on the early returns that emerged after the polling stations closed. While speaking in front of a crowd of her supporters Le Pen described her performance as a great victory and a clear sign millions of people in France disagreed with the current system in France and the European Union. Also, she made it pretty clear she was not going to quit politics and urged the electorate to support her party in the parliamentary elections due in the summer.
