Four Terrorists, One Soldier Killed In Attacks On Military Camps In SW Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Feb 3 (NNN-APP) – Four terrorists and one soldier were killed, when Pakistani security forces repulsed attacks on two camps of paramilitary troops Frontier Corps (FC), in two districts of the country’s south-western Balochistan province last night, an army statement said.

The attacks happened in Panjgur district, located near the Pakistan-Iran border, and in Noshki district, located south-west of the provincial capital of Quetta.

Both attacks have been repulsed, while inflicting casualties to terrorists, the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said, while sharing the preliminary reports of the incidents, in the statement.

“In Panjgur, terrorists tried to enter security forces camp from two locations. However, timely response by troops foiled the terrorist attempt,” said the statement.

During the exchange of fire, one soldier was killed, while the terrorists fled and their casualties are being ascertained, the ISPR said.

In Noshki, the terrorists attempted to enter FC camp. Four terrorists have been killed, and one officer has been injured during the shootout, the statement added.

Sources from Quetta said that, military helicopters were also dispatched from the provincial capital to the attack sites for assistance.

The army statement did not mention the identities or affiliation of the attackers, but proscribed organisation, Baloch Liberation Army claimed the attacks in a statement widely circulating on social media.
