06 May 2021; MEMO: The Islamic Movement in Jerusalem called on Wednesday for resistance in and around Al Aqsa Mosque, and for people not to be deceived by the claim that the Israeli occupation authorities have stopped settlers from entering the Muslims' holy site.

In a media statement, the movement hailed the worshippers inside Al Aqsa Mosque and called on them to continue their struggle against the Israeli occupation forces and the Jewish settlers who desecrate the Noble Sanctuary.

It pointed out that Israel has been trying to suppress the Jerusalem uprising against the Jewish settlers since the start of the holy month of Ramadan. The movement reiterated that the Palestinians in Jerusalem should be vigilant in the coming days as the Israeli settlers are planning to organise a mass desecration of Al Aqsa Mosque before the end of the month.

The movement also praised the persistence and resilience of the Palestinians under threat of being forcibly displaced by the Israeli occupation from Jerusalem's neighbourhoods, including Sheikh Jarrah, Silwan, Al Issawiyeh, Shu'fat and Hizma.

At the same time, it warned the Israeli occupation to end its aggression against Palestinian women and men in Jerusalem. It insisted that there will be consequences of such attacks.

In conclusion, the Islamic Movement called for the Arab and Islamic Ummah to increase its mobilisation and support for the Palestinians resisting the occupation and protecting Al Aqsa Mosque from the Israelis.
