India: History sheeter got shot in the leg at Kanpur's Nawabganj

Kanpur: Intensifying its strict action the police have shot a history-sheeter in his leg late at night in the Nawabganj area here. The history-sheeter Sanjay alias Dhaba has serious cases against him.

DCP West BBGTS Murthy told that late at night vehicles were being checked from Ganga Barrage to Bithoor Road by the SWOT team and police station Nawabganj.

Then two persons on a motorcycle appeared coming.

When the police team on checking duty stopped them, they started running away on a motorcycle.

They were chased based on suspicion.
Seeing being chased by the police, the miscreants opened fire.

In retaliation, the bullet of the police went into the leg of a motorcyclist riding miscreant and he fell there.

Meanwhile, his other friend escaped in the dark.

The arrested miscreant was identified as Sanjay alias Dhaba.

Police have recovered a pistol and live cartridges from near the dhaba.

DCP West BBGTS Murthy has confirmed this encounter. He added that the injured miscreant was taken into custody and interrogated.

Afterwards, he has been sent to Hallet Hospital for the treatment.
