India: English medium schools focus more on fee and books

Kanpur: Some schools claim of imparting quality education through the English medium continuously remind the parents of the monthly or quarterly fee.

The messages start coming every day. It looks like a daily obligation.

It appears the schools have started the e-care system for informing about the fee deposit only. They rely more on the fiscal value than the teaching value.

No day passes without notice regarding the deposit of the fee. The parents deposit the fee regularly. Whenever there is a delay it remains because of reasons, as they assert adding that they remain aware of the important duty.

School authorities in its messages do not forget to mention if the fee deposit is not up to date, the consequence will be bad. The students will not be allowed to appear at the examinations or their results will not be announced online or offline.

Not only this but if the students do not get books on the one particular shop the teachers do not have been sympathetic to them. The shop owner says the stock of the stock is over and it can be available only after ten days on advance order. But how could the teachers understand this?

Parents do not understand the purpose of education in this type of idea. They come to understand the education up to class 8 remains entangled into a business angle. Why do the schools prescribe NCERT books in these classes?
