Kanpur: How can the rate of medicines remain untouched before the increase in petrol, diesel and LPG?

All those medicines that were much in demand during the high wave of coronavirus have got new rates under the fresh batch number.

According to the traders, the rate pattern shows an increase from ten to thirty per cent. Medicines are also dearer due to their separate batch and division.

It has to be noted that rates of medicines like zinc, vitamin C, multi-vitamin capsules, diabetes injections, and antibiotics were exorbitantly increased during the second wave of the Covid-19.

Some of the traders were prudent enough in putting advance orders. Ivermectin tablets were much in demand. It was used as an anti-parasite medication to treat infections in the human body.

The Retail Medicines Vyapar Mandal chairman S Mehrotra said: National Pharmaceuticals Pricing Authority (PPA) has permitted a one-time increase in the rates of three life-saving drugs. It is allowed up to fifty per cent.

What a system! Neither essential items nor medicines are within range of the common man's reach, said a disturbed attendant of a diabetes patient.
