India:Rats damage computer sets at LLR hospital

Kanpur: Despite being a priority of the state government to run the e-hospital system in a better way, it does not practically appear in the wards of the Lala Lajpat Rai hospital here. This leniency prevails because of nursing staff negligence.

The chief nursing superintendent has taken to task his immediate subordinate for this lack of care. The rats have gnawed through the wires, keyboard and mouse of the computers.

This e-system was functioning in the Emergency but other Wards are not securing the benefits of the system. Discharge and admission of the patients were taking place through this computerised way but even the registration facility was not connected with computer in the Wards.

According to the sources, all the ten Wards were given the computer sets but the nursing staff have not brought the computer into use coñducting proper training.

Reacting upon this serious negligence, the chief superintendent DR Maurya said that the damaged computers would be repaired as an order to this effect initiated.
