India: Tout demands money for operation at Ursula

Kanpur:  Whether we call them touts, intermediaries or middlemen or agents their purpose remain the same. In the city's government hospital, one case of a young middleman persuading a patient's attendant to pay some hush money for the operation at the hospital has been exposed.

An orderly of the district magistrate office reached the Ursula Hospital for the treatment of his relative's gall bladder problem. He consulted the surgeon at the hospital. He suggested him the cure by the operation. The patient along with the orderly arrived on Monday.  Meanwhile, a tout allegedly demanded Rs 5000 for operation. Upon this, the Orderly was surprised as the tout also talked of cancellation of the operation.

The Orderly informed the DM office about all this. The hospital administration got alert and started searching for the tout who had demanded the money. Even the Ursula police post in-charge was also informed. The operation was done.

Such is the functioning of a govt hospital where common man goes for the required treatment but what he faces remain so scary. Every patient does not have some influence so there is no end to this menace.
