India: Kashmir residents see no relief from power outages

Srinagar, Apr 27 (PTI) There seems to be no relief in sight for the residents of Kashmir facing electricity outages for the past several days, with the authorities citing the early onset of summer and sub-optimal hydro power generation as reasons for unscheduled power cuts.

Kashmir is going through one of its worst power crisis as unscheduled and prolonged cuts in supply in the holy month of Ramzan have left the people distraught.

India: 2 Kashmiris killed by Indian Sec Forces in Baramulla district of Indian Administered Kashmir

Baramulla, 21 April 2022: Two Kashmiris were killed by Indian security forces in Malwah area of Baramulla district of the Indian Administered Kashmir on Thursday, Indian officials said.

Three soldiers were also injured in gunfight.

India: Ladakh bridge collapse: Bodies of four workers found

Leh, Apr 10 (PTI) Four workers were found dead under the debris of an under-construction bridge which collapsed in Nubra sub-division of Ladakh, officials said on Sunday.

A section of the under-construction Shatse Takna bridge near village Diskit in Leh district collapsed around 4 pm on Saturday due to strong gusty winds, trapping six workers, the officials said.

India: J&K L-G Sinha inaugurates several projects in Srinagar

Srinagar, Apr 8 (PTI) Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant-Governor (L-G) Manoj Sinha on Friday laid the foundation stone for various smart city projects in Srinagar.

The L-G said the new projects, once completed, will strengthen urban infrastructure, improve city services, public aesthetics and ease of living, and provide a clean and sustainable environment.

India: ED questions Omar Abdullah in J&K Bank case

New Delhi, Apr 7 (PTI) Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate Thursday in connection with the purchase of a building by the J&K Bank about 12 years ago, officials said here.

The National Conference leader arrived at the federal probe agency's headquarters this morning where his statement in being recorded, they said.

The case was registered by the ED earlier this year, they said.

India: 2 Kashmiris killed by Indian Sec Forces in Pulwama district of Indian Administered Kashmir

Srinagar, 6 April 2022: Two Kashmiris were killed by Indian security forces in Tral area of Pulwama district on Wednesday of the Indian Administered Kashmir, Indian officials said.

Slain Kashmiris were identified as Safat Muzaffar Sofi  and Umer Teli alias Talha.
