Releasing his new research based on his mathematical ‘model formula’, explaining that the COVID-19 vaccination crusade has  reduced the risk of a third wave.

Therefore it can be said that It is a massive vaccination that has ensured the reduction in infection to a great extent.

States like UP, Bihar, Delhi are on the way to become almost infection-free, he said.

For Afghan refugees in India, hopes dim for returning home

NEW DELHI (AP) — Her memory of the assassination attempt is hazy. What she does know is that her father asked the Taliban to do it.

A former Afghan policewoman, Khatera Hashmi was shot multiple times on her way home from work last October in the capital of Ghazni province, south of Kabul.

As she slumped over, one of the attackers grabbed her by the hair, pulled a knife and gouged out her eyes.

India evacuates 168 people from Kabul

New Delhi, Aug 22 (PTI) India on Sunday evacuated 168 people including 107 Indians from Kabul in a military transport aircraft of the IAF amid the deteriorating security situation in the Afghan capital city following its takeover by the Taliban a week back.

Another group of 87 Indians and two Nepalese nationals who were flown in an Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft to the Tajikistan capital of Dushanbe from Kabul on Saturday, arrived in Delhi on Sunday morning, people familiar with the development said.

India: Man blackmailing girls on social media caught by police

Kanpur: A man was arrested after one of the victims lodged an FIR at Kalyanpur police station on August 7. The Kanpur crime branch police have arrested him. He has been involved in blackmailing the girls by making their obscene videos.

The police have recovered obscene videos of about 65 girls from the mobile phone of the accused.

The crime branch will try to reach other victims. His social media accounts will be thoroughly scanned, pointed out DCP (Crime) Salman Taj Patil.

India: Farmers' protest hits train movement, road traffic in Jalandhar for 2nd day

Chandigarh, Aug 21 (PTI) Farmers seeking hike in sugarcane prices blocked rail tracks and a national highway in Jalandhar on Saturday, impacting movement of trains and vehicular traffic.

According to railway officials of Ferozepur division, as many as 50 trains have been cancelled, while 54 have either been diverted or short-terminated.

Scores of farmers had on Friday launched an agitation for an indefinite period to press the Punjab government to accept their demands related to pending dues of sugarcane and hike in cane prices.

India: 18-year-old man arrested for kidnap, rape of minor girl in UP

Ballia (UP), Aug 21 (PTI) An 18-year-old man was arrested here for allegedly kidnapping and raping a 14-year-old girl, police said on Saturday.

They said the minor was kidnapped on August 12 by the accused, and a case was registered against him based on a complaint by her mother.

SHO of local Haldi police station Raj Kumar Singh said the girl was rescued on Friday and taken for a medical examination at the district hospital.

In her statement to a local court, she accused the man of raping her, he added.

India: Startling facts surface in Vikas Dubey case

Kanpur:  Alarming revelations have come to light In the judicial commission's inquiry report of the ambush in Kanpur's Bikru village in July last year.

Police could not find a total of 21 out of 65 case files registered against gangster Vikas Dubey. The cases were registered at Shivli, Kalyanpur, Chaubepur and Billhaur police stations in Kanpur.

On July 3, 2020, eight police personnel were gunned down by criminals in an attack from a rooftop when a police team entered Bikru village to arrest Dubey.
